About SoopPortalBlogX

This Soopporal Mod (or add-on) is based on Matthew1471's version of BlogX V1.0.5.09. Dukados contacted Matthew1417 around early january 2005. Then an elaborate study and modification of the original code began. By mid februari the mod version 1 was ready and presented to be tested on www.cyrussx.com. It was obvious that the code wizard CyrussX had some suggestions that had to be implemented. So version 2, without release of version 1, was develloped.

Modifications while converting BlogX to SoopPortalBlogX

Navigation and module boxes

The navigation containing module boxes were incorporated in the Soopportal system. Other efforts to incorporate BlogX into SoopPortal were the use of the adminpages and group restrictions.

Templates

BlogX was meant to be a separate website providing weblogs. Therefor it carried his own templates. Lots of the original template features where disabled because a good integration means also adopting the SoopPortal Templates. Some of the features were kept but are still under review.

Multiplication of files

The original code used many files that where copied by fso each time a blogger subscribed. This was altered by adding an includes system which is used by all the bloggers. This modification downsized the volume from 1,15 mega to 420 Kb. For the good reader : each time a blogger subscribes, a folder of 420 Kb is created. We hope to improve this a little more.
